As some of you may have already noticed, we updated the cPanel on all of our servers to the version 11. The new cPanel version is simply awesome; they included pretty much all of the requested improvements many of us have been waiting for.

Besides the beautiful, and largely customizable new look, cPanel now features the following:

cPanel and WHM Video Tutorials
- these are accessible through your site’s cPanel

Getting Started Wizard
- a great step by step tutorial located right in your Control Panel with: short introduction to web hosting, info on web disk setup, webmail, cPanel themes, etc.

Backup Wizard
- allows you to create and restore backups when you want and how you want them.

New and improved File Manager

Database Wizards
- available for both MySQL and PostgreSQL databases. Allows you to easily setup a new database, users and permissions in a step-by-step manner.

And for all of you Ruby developers
- ability to install your own set of Ruby Gems directly from the RubyForge repository.

There are a lot more new features added. The above are just couple of the ones we waited for the most. Also, everything in cPanel is now pretty much self explanatory - every function, new or old - is really easy to understand and use, and most come with Video tutorials.

We switched all of the users on all servers to the new version and to the new cPanel theme. If any of you are still stuck on the old X theme, email us back and we’ll switch you to the new X3 theme.

Of course, with any new software update there is room for errors. One we found is when creating the FTP accounts. All of them are created as Main accounts which prevents you from ever deleting them. cPanel guys have been informed of this and are working on the issue. Other than that - everything else seems to be running smooth.

For the list of currently available tutorials you can always go to your cPanel or simply visit the following link: https://www.cpanel.net/products/cPanelandWHM/linux/cpanel11/tutorials.html
